Children's Centres

Children's centres are places where children under five years old and their families can go to get services in their local area.

They offer a huge range of support including childcare, parenting, family support services and much more.

New Toy Bus Timetable for January and February 2012 Issued

Following the last timetable, we have changed and expanded the stops the Toy Bus makes now that the new team have had a chance to become familiar with the service and the driving of the bus.

Our aim is to provide access to the bus to as many families across the city as possible.  So we have listened to customer feedback and the priorities of each Children's Centre and hope that this new timetable continues to provide accessible stops to families across the city.  It expands on the last timetable, continues with some popular stops, returned to some old favourites and added a couple of new sessions.

We are always happy to receive feedback on the service, and ideas for the future, so please contact us on 01904 551754 or at toybus@york.gov.uk with any comments.

What is the Toy Bus?

The Toy Bus is a mobile toy library service, where you can borrow good quality toys, books and resources. It gives children the opportunity to make choices about their play, choosing different toys, discovering new play ideas and enhancing play.
Play is what children enjoy doing, it is essential for their healthy development and well being.  Sharing play experiences with your child encourages development and helps you to form a close relationship.
The Toy Bus team are happy to offer advice and information on any aspects of play
